Maya & Carl’s Love Story
When they first locked eyes, Maya says her stomach fluttered and her heart raced. Carl says his heart melted when he first saw her, and he felt like he had met Maya before.
The two have been inseparable ever since. They explain that their relationship developed quickly, based on authentic love, friendship, and an intuitive feeling that they had always known each other. Carl believes they were together in a past life.
The Proposal
Carl decided to propose on their second dating anniversary. Again, during her work trip to Virginia—like when they first met—except this time Carl was with Maya, and he planned to ask her to be his wife! In celebration of their second anniversary on 11/13/24, they went on a private winery tour with a chauffeur. Carl proposed at their second stop, Hillsboro Winery in Hillsboro, VA. Their driver was taking photos of them in the vineyards when Carl dropped to one knee. As usual, Maya was busy and accidentally knocked the ring out of Carl’s hand, so the poor guy was on the ground, crawling around and looking for the ring. Maya had no idea what was about to happen. She was taking pictures lol. He was nervous but confident. She was overwhelmed but overjoyed and excitedly said “YESSSSS!” Followed by “OMG, why is this ring so fk’n big????”
Fall 2022
Facebook Dating Spark
Maya and Carl both join Facebook Dating with no serious intentions. Their instant connection leads to long phone conversations after Maya leaves for a business trip to Virginia.
Nov 18, 2022 – First in-person date
They meet for brunch at The French Press in Aurora, CO. Maya arrives early; Carl is fashionably late. Sparks fly instantly.
Late 2022 – Early 2023
TTheir connection deepens quickly, grounded in friendship, intuitive love, and shared values. Carl believes they’ve known each other in a past life.

On their second anniversary, during another trip to Virginia (mirroring their early days), Carl proposes during a private chauffeured wine tour at Hillsboro Winery.
Maya accidentally knocks the ring out of Carl’s hand mid-proposal 😅
She says “YESSSSS!” and laughs: “Why is this ring so fk’n big???”
